A quick lentil recipe that is perfect for weekend lunch and goes so well with roti, rice and vegetables! It's very customizable, you can add in a lot of the tadka options.

- 1 cup Toor/Aarhar Dal
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric
- 1 tbsp Cumin Seeds
- 1.5 tbsp Ghee
- 1/2 tsp Hing Asafoetida
Wash the cup of lentils until water runs clear.
In a pressure cooker, add in the lentils and water enough so that it's 1 inch above the lentils.
Add in the salt and turmeric.
Put the pressure cooker lid and on medium heat and have three whistles from the cooker.
Let the pressure be released and once the lentils are cooked, start preparing the tadka.
For the tadka, in a small pan, add in the ghee and the cumin seeds and asafiteda.
Once it sizzles, add in the ghee mixture to the lentils and add in some water to the lentils if it seems too thick. Let it all come to a boil.
Serve it the dal with a scoop of hot ghee! And enjoy with rice, roti and sabzi and it'll be your favorite quick meal!
